Heavy rains disrupt Mumbai-Rajasthan rail route: 24 trains completely cancelled, check status before travelling

The Rajasthan-Mumbai rail route has been severely affected by flooding of tracks due to torrential rains in Mumbai and surrounding areas. Over two dozen trains were cancelled and more than 21 were stopped midway in the last 48 hours due to rising water level on the bridge near Gholvad-Umargam Road.

Amit Sudarshan, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, said that train movement had to be halted due to the water level reaching the danger mark on Bridge No. 203 between Gholvad and Umargam Road stations on Western Railway. Due to the submerged railway tracks at several locations, the decision was made to cancel, partially cancel, and divert trains for safety reasons.
