The final election roll inTamil Nadu was published on Monday (February 23, 2026) following the Special Intensive Review (SIR).
The District Electoral Officers (who are Collectors) released the numbers in their respective districts. Later, Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik held a press conference in the afternoon at Chennai.
Following an order of the Supreme Court of India, the Election Commission of India (ECI), on January 30 said that they had instructed that the list of the names of the persons calculating in the category of “logical discrepancies” shall be displayed at the gram panchayat bhawans, public places and Taluka/Sub-Division, including the ward offices in urban areas.
The final electoral roll of Puducherry was released on February 14, 2026. The Union Territory has an electorate of 9,44,211. Meanwhile, almost 8% of voters have been removed across nine States and Union Territories in the final electoral rolls published after the second phase of the SIR.
4.23 thousand deletions across T.N. in claims and objection period: Archana Patnaik
Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik said as many as 4,38,425 applications were received for deletion from voter list among the claims and objections period from December 19, 2025 and January 30, 2026. Of them, 4,23,172 entries have been deleted in final electoral roll.

27.53 lakh voters added across T.N.
Between the claims and objections period from December 19, 2025 and January 30, 2026, as many as 27,85,195 Form 6 applications were received for registration as new voters. No. of voters in Coimbatore
In Coimbatore district, the total number of voters stands at 26,96,813.
The revision reflects a net addition of 1,22,205 electors, registering a growth of 4.75% after the processing of claims and objections between December 19, 2025, and January 30, 2026.
During the review period, 1,64,518 new voters were added, at the same time, 42,313 names were removed.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu has a total of 5,67,07,380 electors — 28,960,838 women and 27,738,925 men, according to the final electoral roll of the Special Intensive Revision 2026 released on Monday.

After the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the state saw 97.37 lakh voter deletions, with urban constituents accounting for the bulk of deletions.
The total electorate then stood at 5.43 crore, a drop from the previous 6.41 crore.
Nevertheless, after SIR, 34,75,717 applications were received both offline and online, including for inclusion.
As many as 27.53 lakh eligible electors were added and 4.23 lakh ineligible electors were deleted during the period for filing claims and objections from Dec 19 in 2025 to Jan 30.
The number of voters in the age group of 18-19 years is 12.51 lakh.

The final roll follows a meaningful cleanup and update process:
Deletions: About 97.37 lakh names were removed from the initial rolls due to deaths, duplications, or relocations.
Additions: During the revision period from December 19, 2025, to January 30, 2026, 27.53 lakh eligible voters were added.
Net Change: The total electorate dropped from 6.41 million (pre-SIR) to 5.67 million.
22.6 lakh voters in Chengalpattu
Chengalpattu District Collector D. Sneha, on Monday, said that the district had a total of 22,60,036 voters of whom 11,04,512 are men, 11,55,144 are women and 381 belonged to the third gender. As many as 1,90,010 names have been added and 15,465 have been removed since the publication of draft election roll two months ago.
Constituency-wise composition of voters are as follows:

Sholinganallur has a total of 5,36,991 voters of which 2,62,621 are male voters, 2,74,254 female voters, and 116 third gender voters.
Pallavaram has a total of 3,30,217 voters of which 1,61,197 men, 1,68,990 are women and 24 others.
Tambaram has a total of 3,23,677 voters of whom 1,57,580 are men, 1,66,046 are women and 51 are third gender voters.
Chengalpattu has a total of 3,66,400 voters including 1,78,076 men, 1,88,267 women and 57 third sex voters.
Tiruporur has 2,89,401 total voters of whom 1,40,991 are men, 1,48,359 are women and 51 are third gender voters.
Cheyyur has a total of 2,02,055 voters including 1,00,103 men, 1,01,934 women and 18 third sex voters.
Maduranthakam has 2,11,295 voters of whom 1,03,943 are men, 1,07,288 are women and 64 are third gender voters
