350 comes up for India! Two maximums in a row from Khilan Patel. Coming in to bat at no. 9.He has played an absolute gem of an innings. First maximum slogging over deep mid-wicket, the next one hammered over long-off.

And he departs! A fantastic 30 off just 12 balls by Khilan.

IND U19 350/8 (49.5)

Next ball, he gets another boundary!

IND 335/7 (49)

The Final Flourish –

Despite losing a few quick wickets in the death overs to Zimbabwe’s captain, Simbarashe Mudzengerere, India’s tail continued to wag. The visitors targeted the 300-run mark, but thanks to Vihaan Malhotra and Khilan A. Patel’s late flourish, they ended with more than just enough. The sun is beating down on Bulawayo, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. The home side, Zimbabwe, have found runs difficult to come by in this tournament, but with their Super Six survival on the line, they need to win. The target is set. Do we have a surprise on the other side? Stay tuned as the chase is just around the corner.

The Middle-Order Masterclass –

With the innings at a crossroads, Vihaan Malhotra and Abhigyan Kundu stepped up to play the defining partnership of the day. The duo combined for a massive 113-run stand, balancing caution with calculated aggression. Kundu was particularly proactive, reaching his Fifty in 48 balls before eventually falling for a well-made 61. Malhotra, meantime, acted as the anchor, batting deep into the final overs and scoring a century to ensure a dominating total on the board.

The Blitz and the Fightback – After being put into bat first, India started with an explosive statement from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who didn’t waste a second, racing to a half-century in just 24 balls. However, just as India looked set to run away with the game, Zimbabwe’s Tatenda Chimugoro turned the tide. In a sensational spell, he removed both Sooryavanshi and Captain Ayush Mhatre in the same over, momentarily putting the hosts on top and leaving India at a uncertain 130/4.

Innings Break – So, 36 runs off the last two overs. A wonderful hand from Vihaan Malhotra. Not just his century has put India in a comfortable position but that late innings surge, along with Khilan A. Patel, has given them the cushion of runs to ride the wave. For Zimbabwe, it looks daunting already with the tournament on the line. They need more than a special effort to get the better of India’s innings.

49.5: Dhruv Patel to Khilan A. Patel, OUT! GONE!

An excellent cameo comes to an end. Dhruv gets his first wicket. He digs in a slower bouncer, at shoulder height, angled in. Khilan tries to clear deep square leg with a pull shot, but gets no height and distance on it. Airs it straight down the throat of the deep mid-wicket fielder where Michael Blignaut crouches low and takes a simple catch. 30 off just 12 for Khilan. India are 350/8.

49.4: Dhruv Patel to Khilan A. Patel, SIX! TAKE THAT, SAYS KHILAN! Slips into a full toss, on off, Khilan exposes the stumps, gets on his knee and lifts it off the middle of the blade,India and manages to clear long off fence for a six. 350 up for India!

Tatenda Chimugoro:

Firstly, I just want to thank the Lord for this opportunity to represent my country. When it came to bowl us, mostly to bowl basic cricket, hitting my line and length, making sure that I’m restricting them from scoring runs because previously they were like hitting, so I was making sure that I restrict their hands and bowl as many dot balls as I can. I really enjoyed taking these wickets. You know, it’s actually a privilege taking the wicket of these players because they are really good, great accomplishment for me. Yeah, I’m really grateful for that. Probably a huge electric thing, the lower for the support. Hopefully we are going to give back by chasing the score, I’m not going to give myself too much pressure. India! I’m just going to keep the basics simple. When it’s there to hit, I hit. When it’s not there, I’ll just rotate the strike and making sure that I’m supporting my teammates and wait for the 50 overs. Then runs will come, so we’ll proceed.
