Sorab Bedi reacts to dating rumours with Malaika Arora after their viral party dance video

After a comfortable dance video showing Malaika Arora and Splitsvilla 16 contestant Sorab Bedi went viral online, the reality TV star has addressed speculation about their relationship and clarified the nature of their bond.

Actress and model Malaika Arora recently found herself at the centre of fresh dating rumours after a video of her dancing with Sorab Bedi at a party went viral on social media.

The video showed the two sharing a fun and apparently cozy moment on the dance floor. It quickly led to speculations that they might be romantically involved.

Bedi, who gained popularity after appearing on MTV Splitsvilla season 16, has now responded to the rumors and clarified that the claims about a relationship are unfounded.

According to him, he has known Malaika for several years through the modeling circuit and their shared social circles.

Talking about the viral video, Sorab told PinkVilla that people were reading too much into a simple party moment. He said, “During my modeling days, Malaika was close friends with people who used to give me shows. That’s how I became friends with her. I used to attend parties and Malaika would also be there. We have been partying together since then, it’s not something that started recently. I had posted similar pictures and videos earlier as well, but back then I wasn’t very well known, so people didn’t pay attention.”

The viral clip reported from a celebration held at Malaika’s restaurant in Mumbai, where several friends from the entertainment and modeling industry had gathered.

In the video which is circulating online, shows Malaika and Sorab Bedi dancing and enjoying the evening together with their other friends.

Sorab also expressed frustration over the quick assumptions made online. He said that such speculations can affect people involved.

He reiterated that he and Malaika are merely friends who have known each other for years through mutual acquaintances and industry events.

Although Malaika has been candid about her romance with actor Arjun Kapoor, she has not made any public statements regarding the speculation about Harsh Mehta.

According to reports there is a noteworthy age difference between them, with Malaika being 52 and Harsh is 33.

Ever since pictures of spending time with Splitsvilla X6 fame surfaced on social media, rumours have been rife about the nature of their bond, with many speculating that the two might be dating. Now, Sorab has addressed the buzz and clarified their relationship status.

After the buzz took over the internet, Sorab responded to the hypothesis in a conversation with Times Now, setting the record straight. The actor clarified that he shares nothing more than a friendship with Malaika.

Talking about how he met Malaika, Sorab said, “Delnaz Daruwala and Vahbiz Mehta gave me a chance to walk the ramp during my modeling days. I became friends with them and started going out for parties. At one of the parties, I met Malaika (Arora) through my mentors. She is also a close friend of Delnaz and Vahbiz. Hence, Malaika and I became friends. There is nothing between us.”

Sorab also reacted to the social media reaction to his video with Malaika, admitting he is deeply disappointed by how it has been perceived.

He shared, “People are talking several things about us. They should think twice before speaking about a girl. It could affect her mental state. Aisa karna nahin chahiye. (They shouldn’t do it). I didn’t party with them for the first time. I have been partying with Vahbiz, Delnaz and Malaika for many years. I previously used to share pictures with Malaika, but at that time, I was not a known face. Now, I am a known face; hence, it is now being noticed by people. Two people can be friends, but people took it differently.

Sorab himself took to Instagram to share several photos from the party he had with Malaika and others. Sharing the images, he wrote, “Congratulations @malaikaaroraofficial for @sweeneybombay (sic).” However, the post was deleted later.

In one image, Malaika is posing with Sorab, and in another short clip, she is seen dancing with Soram. The moments sparked curiosity among social media users and left them wondering whether the two share more than just friendship.

Previously, Malaika was married to Arbaaz Khan. They were married for about two decades before they parted ways and officially divorced in 2017. They share a son, Arhan, together. Malaika began dating Arjun Kapoor in 2016. It was only recently that it became clear they had parted ways after dating for several years. Meanwhile, Sorab was linked with Splitsvilla 16 contestant Niharika Tiwari.
